CS2 Ping Test

Compare browser HTTP response times to AWS regions before you play. These are regional estimates, not connections to the game’s match servers. Confirm actual ping and packet loss with in-game telemetry.

Test Regional HTTP Timing ↓
Ready — press Start Test for a bounded regional HTTP sample

Method: three HTTP probes per AWS region, up to six requests at once, with a 2.5-second timeout. Rejected and timed-out requests show Unavailable. Opaque browser responses hide HTTP status; timings can include DNS, TLS and server work. This does not test the actual game server or UDP packet loss.

Use Counter-Strike 2 telemetry for actual match ping

This page’s regional results measure browser HTTP timing to the displayed endpoints. They do not measure your private CS2 session, Steam relay path, UDP game traffic, or game packet loss. Confirm the connection in CS2 itself before treating a web result as a match diagnosis.

Valve documents its in-game HUD under Settings → Game → Telemetry. Show the relevant ping, frame-time and network-problem information while investigating the symptom. Ping and frame time are both measured in milliseconds but describe different things: a network round trip and the computer’s frame presentation.

Record the symptom before changing settings

  • If the view hitches, check whether frame time changes at that moment. A faster broadband plan cannot directly fix every rendering spike.
  • If movement snaps back or network indicators worsen, compare a quiet connection or a supported wired setup. Record your ordinary reading and the larger changes rather than the single lowest value.
  • If the issue follows competing transfers, compare idle and loaded browser timing, then verify the effect in CS2.
  • Use the game’s current matchmaking options where appropriate. A fast region in this browser tool neither selects a CS2 server nor guarantees that the matchmaker uses that endpoint.

Keep your report useful

Record the match time, platform, connection type, relevant in-game indicators and a short description or clip. Valve’s network-diagnosis guidance is the appropriate reference for a persistent session problem. Do not infer a game outage or a specific failing router solely from one failed web request.

The existing FACEIT versus Premier guidance helps structure a platform comparison. The measurement method explains the web tool’s scope. Neither is a promise that every route or matchmaking service produces the same ping.

Frequently asked questions

What ping is required for a particular Premier rank?

This guide does not assign an official latency requirement to each rank. Lower and more consistent round-trip delay is useful, but judge the actual session using the game’s telemetry and the symptom rather than a fabricated rank-tier cutoff.

Does the network-problem display mean only dropped packets?

Valve’s guide discusses game updates that arrive late as well as missing updates. Use its explanation for the HUD, rather than treating a failed HTTP request here as the same metric.
